At the beginning of his career, Kartik was keener on becoming a medium paced bowler, but destiny took a turn and he became famous as a low-paced leg-spinner. Due to the presence of skilled spinners like Harbhajan and Kumble, Kartik mostly remaind a choice as an alternative in the team. Among the audiences he is famous as a fashion conscious cricketer with a piercing in one ear and curly hair. As a Khight Rider, he is the only player who played in the inaugural sessions of Stanford T-20 and IPL. Despite of having full proficiency in spinning, he couldn’t create much magic in the first season. He took only three wickets in six matches and those three wickets were also claimed in a single match.
