IPL’s beauty comes out more in a situation where we have the ‘king of spin’ i.e Warne on one side and Salunkhe, who hasn’t even played a single international match. Salunkhe had not even taken cricket seriously till three years before. It was only after winning the   ‘Man of the series’ award in the first  television cricket reality show “ Cricket Star”, that propelled him to think that his career lay here. In the award, the right-hand batsman and leg spinner Salunkhe got 2007 English season scholarship in Leicestershire County Cricket Club. This Mumbai cricketer first got chosen by AirIndia followed by IPL. Salunkhe is a big example of the way IPL has given fame and recognition to the young players.
