Having learnt some of the minutest tricks of cricket from his father Krishna Kumar, the batsman cum wicket-keeper hasn’t got opportunities according to his talent. M S Dhoni’s presence in India kept Kartik struggling to get his proper place and chance. But, bowlers who have faced his bat’s striking abilities are very well aware of his flair. It was due to Kartik’s superb all-round performance that Tamil Nadu was able to reach in the Ranji Trophy semi-finals. After the Ranji, it was Duleep Trophy where Kartik’s admirable batting scored him two centuries. Having a look at this kind of a performance, the hopes will obviously run high for the second season of IPL.
