Name: Cheteshwar Pujara
Birth: January 25, 1988, Rajkot (Gujrat)
IPL Team: Kolkrata Knight Riders
Country: Iindia
He hasn’t even played his first international match and he already is being looked as the one who will take the place of Rahul Dravid in the Indian team. Son of the former Ranji Trophy Arvind Pujara, Cheteshwar Pujara asserts “ I don’t like getting out”. His outspoken assertion is further commanded by a record of three tripple centuries in his first month of first-class cricket. Pujara feels that playing in IPL isn’t enough to secure a place in team India, and that only one’s merit gets counted. Despite not getting a chance to play in IPL”s first season, he was content sharing dressing room with senior players like Sourav Ganguly. There will be a lot of expectations in IPL from Pujara taking a cue from his excellent performances in Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy recently.
Quoting Cheteshwar: "I think Indian Premier League is a short-cut. A player might make it to the national squad but the success will not be long lasting. A good Test cricketer is only made when he comes through the ranks. And first-class cricket is the right school for graduating to the international level. It helps you mature as a cricketer," said Pujara in an interview.
